In a short time, you will reach a significant altitude. This is where the fun ends, and the difficulties begin, which means taking on the challenge – dealing with headaches, lack of appetite, and for some, overall weakness of the body.

Moir Hut
This day involves further trek along the the Shira Ridge, then head southeast towards Lava Tower - a 300-meter-high volcanic rock formation. This is a crucial day for acclimatization, so we will spend about an hour at Lava Tower at 4600 m, having lunch and resting. Then, we will descend from the main trail towards the less-traveled Moir Hut at 4139 m.

Third Cave
Day six begins with a climb up Buffalo Ridge, then heading towards the Pofu Camp, where we'll have lunch. After lunch and a short break, we will continue our trek to Third Cave at 3800 m. This day is shorter than the previous one, and you should feel better thanks to acclimatization. We plan to reach the camp around noon after about 5 hours of trekking.

School Hut
On this day we plan to continue climbing up "The Saddle," which lies between the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Then, we will head southwest to our camp, School Hut at 4800 m, from where we'll start our nighttime summit attempt. After reaching the camp, we will rest and prepare for the main challenge. We'll have an early dinner, get our gear ready, go to bed early to recover from all the trekking and gather energy for the Uhuru Peak.

Uhuru Peak
We will start the summit attempt very early in the morning, definitely long after midnight. This is going to be the most mentally and physically challenging part of the whole journey. The wind and cold temperature at this height and time of day can be extreme, that’s why we will be taking frequent but short breaks to ensure our well-being and safety. At Gilman's Point at 5685 m, we'll witness the most stunning sunrise, that is going to be an energy kick on the way to the summit. We will eventually reach the Uhuru Peak at 5895 m—the highest point on Kilimanjaro and the African continent. After a break for pictures, we are going to descend directly to Mweka Camp at 3100 m, stopping at Barafu Camp at 4673 m for lunch and a short rest. The trail is quite rocky and can be rough on the knees, so bring your trekking poles! Mweka Camp is in the upper part of the rainforest. Late in the day, expect fog or rain, which is typical for the area. In the evening, we will enjoy our last dinner in the mountains and get some well-deserved rest

Mweka Camp
Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will officially say goodbye with dances and songs to our porters and guides. The gentle descent through the rainforest will lead us to Mweka Gate at 1640 m, where we complete the final formalities. Then, we are going to finish the expedition in Moshi, where we will finally get to rest and take a relaxing shower :) The evening ends with a farewell party and celebrating our accomplishments!
