Shira I Camp
Shira I Camp

After breakfast in the morning, we must take on a 2–4-hour drive to the western gates of the Kilimanjaro National Park. At the Londorossi Gate at 2250 m, we will quickly take care of formalities and continue by off-road vehicles until we reach 3500 m at Lemosho Glades, where we plan to begin our trek. Along the way, you'll see stunning views of the Shira Plateau. The trail to the first camp, Shira I Camp at 3610 m, has a moderate elevation gain and isn't too difficult, making it a good first day for acclimatization.

The second day involves a relatively light and pleasant trek to the next camp - Shira II Camp at 3850 m. Along the way, you'll enjoy spectacular views and the unique flora of Kilimanjaro. If the weather is good, you might be able to see Mount Meru at
4566 m—the fifth-highest peak in Africa. After lunch and some rest, we'll head on a 2–3-hour acclimatization trek towards Lava Tower at 4600 m, then return to Shira for the night.

Barranco Camp
Barranco Camp

An important day for acclimatization. Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will leave the camp and start the trek to our first destination of the day - the Lava Tower at 4600 m. Due to multiple ascents, descents, and significant height, it's a challenging day where you might feel some discomfort. To acclimatize properly, we will have lunch at Lava Tower and spend about an hour at this altitude. We then plan to descend to Barranco Camp at 3900 m, where we will spend the night. This camp is located under the famous and imposing nearly 300-meter-high Barranco Wall. You'll be in awe of its size and steepness, preparing yourself to climb it the next day. :)

Karanga Camp
Karanga Camp

We must wake up early in the morning to get to the wall as soon as possible (Don’t worry – we won’t skip breakfast). The sooner, the better, to avoid possible stops and queues due to the number of people climbing. Although the wall may look daunting at first, it's not technically challenging and after about 1-2 hours you will be able rest and take photos under the Kibo crater, which you'll pass on your left. After a short break and admiring the views, we plan to take on a more challenging route to Karanga Camp at 3995 m. After having lunch there, we'll go on a 1–2-hour trek towards Barafu Camp as part of acclimatization. We'll cover 2.5 km and gain 300 m in elevation, then return to Karanga Camp for the night.

Barafu Camp
Barafu Camp

Another day and another challenge. On this day we will head to the next camp, Barafu Camp at 4673 m, which is the starting point for our nighttime summit attempt. After lunch and some rest, we will also go for a ca. 1–2-hour long trek towards Kosovo Base at 4800 m as a form of preparation and further acclimatization. The distance to cover is about 2 km, then we'll return to Barafu Camp. In the evening we will have dinner, then sleep and try to regain energy for the main summit attempt, happening the exact same night.

Uhuru Peak
Uhuru Peak

We must wake up in the middle of the night, have a small something to eat, and around midnight - face the challenge of climbing the Uhuru Peak. From a technical standpoint, the climb is relatively simple; the most challenging obstacle is the altitude. Guides will support you and ensure your safety. Reaching Uhuru Peak will take about 7-8 hours, with the first milestone being Stella Point at 5756 m. The climb to this point is relatively steep and accounts for about 80-90% of the total climbing time. From Stella Point, there's a relatively gentle 40–60-minute ascent to Uhuru Peak, which would be almost a formality if not for the altitude. Once at the summit, you have 20-30 minutes to enjoy the views and take photos. We then plan to descend the same way back to Barafu Camp. Depending on the time of descent, you'll have about 1-2 hours for a short break, lunch, because after that we will have to trek further to Mweka Camp at 3100 m, located in the rainforest.

Mweka Camp
Mweka Camp

This is our last day on Kilimanjaro. After waking up in the morning, you'll feel relief due to the lower altitude. After an early breakfast, we'll say goodbye to our guides and porters by singing and dancing together, then head to the finishing point - the Mweka Gate at 1640 m. The trek will take about 4-5 hours, following a gentle path through the rainforest.
